About

Chef Will Cox
Let me tell you a little about myself…
Since I was about 5 years old the fascination of food began.
I grew up with both parents who worked full time and often served quick food such
as Macaroni and Cheese or crockpot meals. Even at a young age, food was my
thing! I knew I needed to widen my food palette, so I began my journey of cooking
by taking charge of our family meals.
From my mom teaching me how to operate the microwave to cook eggs and slowly
earning the responsibility of operating the stove, at home I began experimenting
with family recipes learning and practicing new cuisines and cooking techniques.
When I turned 18, I had the privilege of attending a small but great Culinary
School in Westlake, California where I studied under the direction and mentorship
of Wolfgang Puck’s Sous chefs.
After numerous culinary courses and onsite training, I graduated top of my class
and was even elected the Kitchen Manager of my classes’ graduation dinner hosted
for friends and family. Culinary school provided rigorous hands-on training and
gave me the opportunity to perfect my cooking methods and skills that would
otherwise have taken years to obtain.
The professional culinary portion of my education continued with employment at a
wide variety of hotels, private clubs, both fast food to fine dining restaurants and
catering companies.
Culinary courses and my colorful work environments, good, bad and the ugly,
added to my knowledge and confidence making my skills more valuable (and
marketable) and eventually led me to creating and building my own catering
company Will’s Bountiful Brunch.
Food is my thing! And what a joy the research and experimenting has been to
further my culinary studies.
I have successfully operated my catering business serving the Ventura and Los
Angeles counties for over 10 years. From my first ever catering gig for Family Day
at my wife’s preschool serving free samples to catering for celebrities such as
Danny DeVito, Miley Cyrus and even Dr. Dre. And the best part is my successful
streak has been from word of mouth!
I am very well-known, especially in the Simi Valley area. Particularly because of
FaceBook’s community forum Simi Valley Foodies. I have networked myself and
my business and built a plethora of unique foodie enthusiasts, vendors and fellow
culinary business owners furthering my success in the field.
I’ve learned new things about food and cooking from every situation I’ve
experienced! Food from travel, ethnic and cultural traditions, food styling and my
own variety of food related experiences, it continues to be an endless addition to
my culinary bag of tricks!
I relish the challenge of creating and perfecting delicious meals and eagerly look
forward to anyone willing to show me their take on food.
Food satisfies something very special deep within the soul.
I hope you will be my next foodie teacher.
Remember…
Live, love and Eat!
